The Fall Sports season officially kicks off on Wednesday, August 9th. At WiHi we are proud to offer the following fall sports; cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, boys soccer, girls soccer, girls volleyball, and unified tennis.
To be eligible for participation, student-athletes must be academically eligible, complete the online registration (https://app.formreleaf.com/organizations/wicomico-high-school), and have valid physical dated after June 1st on file with our athletic trainer. Athletic participation in a fall sport is a great way to ensure your student will start the school year off right and can increase both their academic and extracurricular engagement for the entire year. Additionally, athletic participation fees have been waived for the 2023-2024 school year.
Please review the following dates, times and locations of the first practices for each of our fall sports:
Cheerleading – Wednesday, August 9th at 4:00pm in the Auxiliary Gym.
Cross Country – Wednesday, August 9th at 7:00am in front of the stadium ticket booth.
Football – Wednesday, August 9th at 5:00pm at the stadium field house.
Golf – Monday, August 14th at 8:00am, meet in front of the auditorium.
Boys Soccer – Wednesday, August 9th at 5:00pm on the soccer field.
Girls Soccer – Wednesday, August 9th at 8:00am on the soccer field.
Girls Volleyball – Wednesday, August 9th at 7:30am at Bennett Middle School Gymnasium.
Unified Tennis – Will begin after the start of the school year. More information to come.

Wicomico High School will be hosting On-Site Sports Physicals on Tuesday, August 1st from 4:00pm-7:00pm in the Field House at Wicomico County Stadium. Student-athletes who still need a sports physical prior to the start of Fall Sports (Wed. Aug. 9th) are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity. The cost of a sports physical is $30, which can be paid in cash or card.
In order to be eligible for an on-site physical, a WCBOE Sports Physical Form must be completed (first page along with demographic information on the second page) by a parent/guardian before the physical can be conducted. Extra copies will be available prior to check-in.
If attending, please utilize the baseball field parking lot on Civic Ave. If you have any questions, please reach out to Assistant Principal, Mr. Steve Romano (stromano@wcboe.org).

Over a dozen students are participating in Wicomico County Public Schools' C.R.E.W. program this summer. C.R.E.W. stands for Career Research Education and Work, and gives rising 10th, 11th and 12th grade students the opportunity to work in a paid position in the community for 6 weeks during the summer. Students also get classroom training on communication soft skills needed to be successful in the workplace.
On Wednesday, the students were visited by Lower Shore Workforce Alliance's Sherri Sigrist who spoke to the class about various job opportunities available on the Eastern Shore and how to pursue those careers.

Wicomico Public Schools is transitioning to a new text alert system for the new school year. It's called Thrillshare.
You will receive an "introductory text" on your phone from our new system on Thursday afternoon (June 29th). You'll know the message is from us because you'll see the 5-digit code of 98900.
If you no longer want to receive these text messages for school updates, emergencies, closings, delays, etc., simply reply STOP to that text message.
Again, just a reminder to look for an introductory text message from our new alert system on Thursday afternoon. We wish you the best this summer and look forward to seeing you after Labor Day for the start of the new school year - Wicomico Public Schools
