School Based Wellness Center

School Based Wellness Center at Wicomico High logo with apple

SBWC is a health care center, similar to a doctor’s office, on school grounds.  The Wicomico High School Wellness Center is sponsored by the local health department and provides medical and behavioral health counseling services to enrolled students during the school day.  The goal of SBWC is to keep Wicomico High School students healthy and “in” school ready to learn.  Parent consent is required for students to receive services.  SBWC enrollment packets have been distributed to all students and completed forms can be brought to the main office.  The SBWC office is located in a portable outside of the main office.  Students should first report to the main office and the front office staff will give them a pass to the wellness center. Days/Hours of operation and more information can be found below.

SCHEDULING / APPOINTMENT COMMUNICATION: SBWC will have both scheduled appointments and walk-in appointments available.

The day prior to the appointment, an email will be sent to WHS staff.  This email will list the students and appointment times scheduled for the next day.  If the assigned appointment time creates a conflict, we will gladly reschedule the appointment!

Students complaining of illness should still be sent to the School Nurses.  The School Nurses will have a list of students enrolled in the SBWC program and refer to us as appropriate.
